Animal Sanctuary 

 

 We are a self funding animal sanctuary in Hailsham and we offer a safe, forever home for any unwanted horses, ponies or donkeys.

In previous years, over 300 horses have been rehabilitated and rehomed at Bushy Wood, but we have found that we like to take care of the overlooked ones, such as the unrideable ones, as these are not easy to rehome because most people who are looking to loan a horse or pony would like to be able to go riding, which is great, but not all horses or ponies like to be ridden so we like to give these animals a home where they can live out their days in a safe, permanent environment, where they can either live out with access to field shelters, or come in at night to a dry comfy stable, whichever they prefer! 

We currently have space for new residents, so please get in touch if you need our help, but please note that this could change at any time.  So whatever your reason for not being able to look after an animal anymore, please contact us.

We also welcome sheep, goats and of course, chickens!!
